🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Mentor Match Project – Overview

One Child. One Mentor. One Life Transformed.

The Mentor Match Project is the foundational program of GUCM that pairs vulnerable or disadvantaged children with trusted, trained mentors who provide consistent guidance, emotional support, and skill development over time. This one-to-one or small group relationship becomes a lifeline of hope, stability, and encouragement in the child’s life.

🎯 Objective

To provide children in difficult circumstances with positive adult role models who will support their personal, academic, and emotional growth through regular interaction, care, and trust-building.

👦 Who It Supports

  • Children facing poverty, trauma, abuse, or displacement

  • Orphans or institutionalized children without adult guidance

  • Refugee or migrant children in new or unsafe environments

  • Children from broken homes or high-risk areas

  • Youth with learning or behavioral challenges in need of steady support

🤝 What Mentors Provide

  • A safe, listening presence

  • Academic encouragement and study help

  • Social skills and life guidance

  • Career awareness and future planning

  • Trust, consistency, and friendship

“Mentors don’t need to have all the answers—they just need to be there.”

🧭 How the Project Works

  1. Children are identified through schools, orphanages, NGOs, and community partners.

  2. Mentors are recruited, screened, trained, and assigned based on child needs, language, and location.

  3. Mentorship begins either in-person (community centers, schools) or virtually (through secure online sessions).

  4. Activities are guided by GUCM’s child-focused mentorship curriculum.

  5. Progress is monitored monthly and shared with parents, guardians, or partner institutions.

🔒 Child Safety First

All mentors undergo:

  • Background checks (where applicable)

  • Training on child protection, trauma care, and communication

  • Adherence to GUCM’s Mentor Code of Ethics and reporting standards

💬 Outcomes & Impact
